What is RAPID Creative Computing?


Creative computing refers to the development of human connections to computing, by drawing on creativity, imagination, and interests. It emphasizes the knowledge, practices, and fundamental literacies that people need to live in the digital world. It supports people’s development as computational thinkers. The main objective of creative computing is to model creativity using a digital computer and achieve one of several ends :

  • To construct a program or computer capable of human level creativity.
  • To better understand human creativity and to formulate an algorithmic perspective on creative behaviour in humans.
  • To design programs that can enhance human creativity without necessarily being creative themselves.

Creative computing is able to solve practical problems. Here we present some typical applications.

  • Decision Making: Making decision is very crucial to successful living. Traditional decision making involves setting the goal, gather information, developing alternatives, listing pros and cons of each alternative, making a choice, and taking action. Creative computing can improve the traditional approach by applying game theory, lateral thinking along with software engineering.
  • Problem Solving: Creative computing is useful in creative problem solving. This leverages the psychological processes leading to human creativity. This provide an explanation for incubation effects in simple memory experiments and insight in problem solving.
  • Music: Creative computing is used in the music domain for generate musical scores for use by human musicians and for generating music for performance by computers. It focuses on the process of improvisation and the cognitive demands that this places on a musical agent.
  • Tourism: This application is with the purpose of problem-solving for the tourism domain. Tourism field needsto solve problems on managing and monitoring the places of interests and people.
Other applications of creative computing include video games, field of arts, digital heritage, education and health.

What is Intermediate Program ?


The Intermediate program helps students to learn the fundamental concepts of programming. The program involves many puzzles and games, which makes the learning process fun and interactive. The program also sheds light to the basic concepts of mobile app development apart from learning animations and gaming.
